    Although it was a rainy day, we enjoyed our tour with Aleksi...we had some great food, great conversation and a very smooth drive...he provided us with plenty of historic details and stories of all the places we visited and even told us about the Cathedral near our hotel which we had missed to visit earlier...totally recommend the tour!!

    After being picked up from your hotel at 8:00AM, your first stop will be the Ujarma fortress. It is believed that in the second half of the 5th century, the famous Vakhtang Gorgasali (founder of Tbilisi) erected numerous buildings in Ujarma and moved his residence there. In the 10th century, Ujarma was destroyed by the Arabian forces of Abul Kassim. Later on in the 13th century, the fortress was restored by King George III, where he arranged treasury. The experience from the start to the end was never boring. the programme of the tour ended beautifully in Khareba. From there I learned not only about Georgian wine but also their sweets and traditional bread. I suppose now i understand wine better in the Georgian way. I will never forget this trip. Was all worth it. The trip was very interesting and educative. Our guide and driver Guram was great, he shows as many interesting sites and also explain a lot about Georgian history. It was a nice trip and I recommend it.
