From Las Vegas: Oatman Mining Town/Burros and Route 66 Tour

1. From Las Vegas: Oatman Mining Town/Burros and Route 66 Tour

Departing Laughlin, Las Vegas, Kingman, or Lake Havasu, your adventure begins the moment you board the comfortable passenger vehicle. Your tour guide’s ancestral roots in the area date back to the 1800s, and his family’s vintage collections have been featured in Mohave Museum of History and Arts exhibitions, making him the perfect escort for your day out. The first stop is the Powerhouse Visitors Center/Arizona Route 66 and Electric Vehicle Museums. You’ll discover a variety of vehicles, photographs, and artifacts gathered over the history of The Mother Road. Next, stop at Cool Springs Service Station. Built in the mid-1920s, Cool Springs was born on Route 66 and remains an antiquated spawn of the Mother Road today. Then, take the Route 66 Black Mountain scenic 8-mile stretch to Oatman, known as the Sidewinder, which has 191 curves, turns, and switchbacks. The views from the Sitgreaves Pass during your travel of the Black Mountains, which borders the eastern shore of the south-flowing Colorado River from Hoover Dam, are simply stunning. Finally, reach Historic Oatman in time to stroll around the vintage shops, meander with the burros and experience the High Noon gunfight reenactment.

Enjoyed historical Oatman town, like stepping back in time. Kinsman town and Museum also interesting. Route 66 Highway was better than expected, with Burrows along road a unexpected sight. All in all a good trip, seeing parts of Our heritage few have seen.

It was a huge experience! We loved the trip! The car was comfortable. We had enough time to see, visit the museum, Oatman and the route 66. Everything was perfect! Highly recommended trip!!! Everybody will love it!
