Full description

The waters of Victoria BC are home to three of the major Pods (groups) of Killer Whales. This tour presented by pioneers in the field will offer the unique experience of observing these magnificent mammals in their natural environment.

The area's resident Killer Whales spend much of their time around Victoria and San Juan Island feeding on the natural abundance of salmon, one of their principal diet sources. The extensive spotting network and years of experience in locating the whales ensures a very high success rate for tours. The area of operations in the water surrounding Southern Vancouver Island, Victoria, and the Gulf Islands is the home of pods "J", "K", and "L" numbering approximately 90 whales in total. Your crew is waiting to introduce you to these magnificent mammals and share with you the myriad of other natural wonders abundant in this pristine marine environment. The Salish Sea, the water off Victoria, is home to an abundance of marine wildlife. During the tour, explore various feeding areas that attract whales to local waters. You'll have the opportunity to see orcas and humpback whales in their natural habitat. Other possible encounters include minke and gray whales. The Salish Sea is also home to seals, sea lions, porpoise, otters, and many more sea animals. Let five-star whale watching introduce you to the wonders of the Salish Sea.

We were extraordinarily lucky to find a dozen or more humpback whales in one spot and two that swam within feet of the boat. Amazing views of these magnificent animals. Aside from the huge slice of luck, the boat was comfortable, well staffed and not overcrowded. All staff on board were very friendly and imparted their knowledge well.

Great Experience

We loved it. We were only a few days into the season and didn't see whales but it was already a gamble at that time. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great time even though we didn't see whales. They took great care to search and make sure we had a good time. We saw sea lions, harbor seals, and bald eagles.

Too few Orcas and way too many boats.

What was fine: The Catamaran was great. Loved the sail in and out of inner harbour. The crew was very friendly and capable. But I felt so sorry for the three Orcas that we were chasing. It should be illegal to chase after them. I understand that people want to view them......but not inthis way. Overall a good experience. But would not go again.
