The Klis Fortress is significantly larger than expected and definitely worth a visit. But our highlight was the visit to Stella Croatica. You get a short tour of the production, the grounds and an olive museum. Afterwards you can try everything and explore the area again yourself. The products are incredibly delicious and the whole facility is designed with great attention to detail. Quite unexpectedly this was one of our highlights in the Split area!

The fortress of Kliss, very nice but a lot of constructions inside (probably exhibition halls) which are completely empty, we did not really understand the interest of the workers to the public, especially since at the entrance there was a Game of Thrones sign so we looked in all the rooms if there was an exhibition but nothing. At the back of the fortress there is still a small room of 2m2 with 5 old photos and a torn dragon … too bad. Because we came to visit this fortress mainly because it had been a filming location. The olive museum was great, we hesitated to go there and finally it was our best visit :)

Plant of the olive museum still very new. Everything very well maintained including the toilets. Guide was in English, tried very hard and also informative. Of course we also bought a little in the shop. What was positive was that we were able to look at everything in peace and test/try it out. So not the usual push-to-sell. Fortress is definitely worth a visit. Take something to drink with you, there is no sale or anything like that up there. But the view is insane. It's worth it!
