Take a break at around noon and build a fire to warm up. Cook lunch and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee or tea cooked on the open flames. In the Swedish winter, it won't be long before the sun sets on the horizon, so torch lamps will be needed for the last part of the hike. The afternoon is usually the best time to spot animals. If the temperature allows, walk on one of the frozen lakes on your way out of the nature reserve, before returning to the city full of memories.

What people are saying about Stockholm

As someone who is a fan of kayaking in the summer months, I was at first skeptical of doing so in the winter However, I was very thankfully proven wrong. Not only are the islands of the archipelago absolutely breathtaking- I would paint them if I knew how to (so a photo will have to do for now)- but the guides themselves are excellent too. Milena was able to provide guidance, information and also set the pace for our expedition Having a guide made the experience far more cohesive, enjoyable and provided a sense of safety. She encouraged us to learn to navigate, disembark from kayaks on our own, and introduced the time-honored tradition of sitting fika to us. The equipment is obviously top of the line, and the experience is appropriate for even beginning kayakers.

This experience was really original and our guide, Andy, was very prepared, professional and friendly. The prepartion before the trip was perfect: to be ready with thermals. After we got well covered we were not so cold and paddling helped us keeping warm. It was nice to hear regarding the nature, history and culture especially of Vaxholm archipelago. The views in the middle of the water with snow surrounding it was one of a kind. The fika completed the experience with some hot chocolate, tea and chokladbollar. Finally, really recommended for people that love and know kayak already from summer experiences. It will give you new perspectives and an unforgettable winter view. Thank you

It is one fun activity and fully engaged. Learn lots of information about the city! If you read everything in the game, it will take you more than 42 minutes, as stated.

Fantastic experience. Despite the cold and rainy weather, the activity was terrific. Both of our instructors were lovely and excellent. Love the Fika also ;)

Nice guides and knowledge of the wildlife. Walk can also be done by beginners Campfire Lunch Nice intermezzo as well
