Maspalomas: Ayagaures Hills E-Bike Tour and Tapas Tasting

1. Maspalomas: Ayagaures Hills E-Bike Tour and Tapas Tasting

After meeting your expert guide in Maspalomas, hop on your electric-powered e-bike for a tour of the city’s stunning environs. Bound for Ayagaures, a small village nestled in the hills, cross a lush valley adorned with palm trees, cacti, wildflowers, and other native Canarian flora. Stop by a wild goat farm on the way, learning about how the animal has become an icon for Gran Canaria. As you head toward the top of Ayagaures, explore the Maspalomas, Gran Canaria's immense golden sand dunes situated directly against the brilliant blue sea. Then, head to the Maspalomas Botanical Garden for a walking tour, where you'll learn to identify the main species of tropical plants that call the island home. Once you reach the top of Ayagaures mountain, stop for a half-hour break, during which you’ll sample traditional Canarian tapas in a bar built inside an ancient aboriginal cave (if option selected). Afterward, continue to the vast Ayagaures Dam, where you’ll stop at a picturesque bridge for the perfect view of the massive reservoir.  The return trip is all downhill, so get ready for a little bit of adventure. As you zip down the hill, you’ll pause at a camel farm to meet a few of the curious beasts, and learn of their significance in the culture of the Canary Islands and beyond. Later, you’ll return to the meeting point, having seen some of the most beautiful natural sights that Maspalomas has to offer.

Great tour. The e-bikes are in good shape and everyone can take a tour of the mountains with these e-bikes. Lorenzo speaks good English and can tell you a lot about the nature of the Canaries. Hygiene is also very important. The restaurant where the tapas are served is a typical restaurant in a small cave with a beautiful view. However, it is more of a small snack with a short break than dinner. Still, it tasted great and we enjoyed the trip.

The guide was really very nice and made a few informative stops here and there on the route. The tour leads through an impressive volcanic landscape and the final tapas in a very authentic tapas bar were very tasty! For the mountain bike tour, however, you should bring a certain level of fitness, as the pace is already quite high and the ascent is sometimes quite demanding.

Very pleasant ride: the wealth of information given by our guide allowed us to better understand the island and better understand the population. Small + the tapas restaurant, typical and delicious. In addition to a warm welcome and a beautiful setting! Lorenzo knows perfectly the fauna, the flora and the most beautiful panoramas of the city.

Nice relaxation, the power of the bike can be adjusted depending on the possibilities; very nice guide, tells about Gran Canaria, we saw the botanical garden on the way; very good and lots of Canarian tapas; nice time spent, the trip was very intimate

Nice route, great cycling and a delicious tapas lunch.
