Full description
See the most spectacular locations that these islands offer, both natural, historical, and cultural. Sit on pure white beaches facing a crystal sea to admire imposing mountains and magnificent cliffs, where the waves of the North Sea break. Visit archaeological sites and learn the story of the Viking population and the origins of this land. Walk amongst the old Rorbu (fishermen’s houses) in the different, colorful villages of the islands. Take the chance to taste the various typical products of these islands in some characteristic local restaurants. Explore the area's unspoilt nature, the most genuine and extraordinary part of this beautiful archipelago. Drive through Gimsøy Island and its amazing white sandy beaches, lakes, mountains, landscape and historical wooden church. Continue to Bøstad and stop to marvel at the panoramic view. Move on to the Vestfjord side for the chance to visit Henningsvær, the Venice of the north and Kabelvåg. In these old fishing villages, breath in the history and atmosphere of the ancient times, as fishermen used to gather here to participate in the cod fishing season. More and more famous photographers and artists gather up here each year to catch the beauty of these islands. The magnificent northern lights have inspired and continue to inspire artists from all over the world. Search for the best spots and learn you how to use your camera to capture the beautiful sights.

Incredible service

As for the Chase the Northern Light Tour we had the same tour guide, Eric. He went out of his way to accommodate our wishes and answered all our questions. Incredible service and Eric is very knowledgable. For anybody who is interested in photography - whatever your level - he is the guide to get. Would recommend the local tour company Lofoten Lights to everybody.

Potentially it would have been a great. However because of the weather we were not able to see much. It snowed all day so very limited views and bad road conditions made it a disappointing experience that we had really been looking forward to. It was a lot to pay for the experience and it did say that it would be cancelled if the weather was not good??? The guide was nice but in the back seat we could not hear anything he was saying about the area.
