Discover the most famous spots of the Lower Silesia region on this 1-day guided tour from Wroclaw. Start the trip from your hotel in Wroclaw and head toward the Churches of Peace in Jawor and Swidnica. The churches are the largest timber-framed religious buildings in Europe and are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These unique, richly decorated churches were erected by the Silesian protestants in the 17th century after the Thirty Years War. Afterwards, drive to the magnificent Ksiaz Castle, the third largest castle in Poland that dates all the way back to the 13th century. During your visit, you will admire antique interiors, towers, and French-style terraces. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a pleasant stroll in the gardens surrounding the castle. After exploring the Ksiaz Castle, enjoy a transfer back to your hotel.

The first recorded history about pottery activities in the Bolesławiec region date back to the end of the 14th century. Since then, the region became know as a very important area of pottery production. Visit one of the best local manufacturers observing the skilled workers at the different stages of production. Especially spectacular is the decoration, all of which is done by hand with special stamps with the emblematic pattern called peacock's eye. Afterwards, there is some time for shopping before heading to the next stop, a local restaurant for lunch. On the way back you will have a chance to see one of the biggest wooden churches in Europe. The outstanding Church of Peace in Jawor was built during the socio-political context of the 17th century during the religious wars and persecution of the Protestants. It was constructed under very strict regulations and it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your driver will meet you at the hotel and first take you to Project Riese which is a 1.5-hour drive from Wroclaw. Once you arrive at the Project Riese site, you can head off to explore this fascinating place. Project Riese was the codename for an impressive construction project initiated by Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1945, consisting of seven underground structures located in the Owl Mountains and Książ Castle. Explore this extraordinary network of underground caverns, all in different states of completion, and learn about the history of the site.  You can stay here for lunch or drive to the next place the Church of Peace which is still an active protestant parish. It is the largest timber-framed building in Europe that attracts thousands of tourists.
