  • Szentendre Half-Day Tour from Budapest

    1. Szentendre Half-Day Tour from Budapest

Discover the artistic town of Szentendre (often referred to as the “Artists Village”) on a half-day tour of the Danube Bend. Following a pick-up from your hotel in Budapest city center, continue to Szentendre to experience the nostalgia of the “Artist’s Village.” Travel back in time as you walk through the baroque town center. Pop into souvenir shops, and discover restaurants, coffee shops, and art galleries in the many listed buildings. Feed your creative juices on streets beloved by artists since the 18th and 19th centuries. Then, climb aboard one of the scheduled public boats to cruise back to Budapest at leisure (May to September on weekends only). Disembark at the pier in Budapest city center for the end of the tour services. On weekdays and in winter, you'll return to Budapest by car.

Guide very informative about sights and history. Too much walking for my husband but cute town to explore.

  • Full-Day Danube Bend Tour from Budapest with Lunch

    2. Full-Day Danube Bend Tour from Budapest with Lunch

Your full-day journey into Hungarian history begins with a pick-up at your centrally located hotel in Budapest. Head out in the comfort of an air-conditioned coach, and start off by enjoying the remarkable city of Esztergom and the largest Catholic church in the country.  You’ll have time to enjoy a delicious 3-course before continue on to the magical artist’s village of Szentendre, where your guide will take you on a tour. During the course of the day, you’ll have the opportunity to see Esztergom from another perspective during a photo stop in Slovakia. At the end of the tour you’ll return to Budapest by boat, in the summer months on weekends, and by coach from October to April.

I had a wonderful experience because I was the only one on the tour, and my guide Zoltan thoroughly educated me on the history of each region and ensured that I saw everything important and special.

  • Budapest: 6-Hour Private Tour to Szentendre

    3. Budapest: 6-Hour Private Tour to Szentendre

Visit the historic town of Szentendre on a half-day sightseeing tour from Budapest, traveling by air-conditioned vehicle for up to 6 people. Home to Serbians and Bulgarians in the Middle Ages, the town has been populated for well over a millennium, and in Roman times was known as Ulcisia Castra (Wolf Castle). Today it is home to some beautiful Orthodox churches, including the mid 18th-century Blagovestenska Church, built by Greek settlers. You will also see the baroque Cross of Fő tér (Main Square), and the Serbian merchant houses of the winding streets that surround it. Full of bohemian bars, bookshops, galleries and atmospheric restaurants, in the summer Szentendre plays host to many open air festivals, while Christmas is a time to browse for handmade crafts as you sip mulled wine at the open air Christmas Market. On almost every corner you will find something worth taking a picture...

What people are saying about Szentendre

I was picked from my hotel and driven to the office location, the staff at the office were very friendly and warm. Our tour guide was respectful and knowledgeable and was very pleasant. Other travelers were kind and very engaging, we shared our experiences and a bit of history from our native countries, they were patient during the shopping spree at Szentendre and we walked together giving each other courage and compliment. Travelers were diverse and were very friendly and respectful too. I learnt alot from them

A very nice way to discover the countryside and some nice places outside Budapest. I would have liked to spend maybe half an hour in the small town across the border to take some pictures. Every stop was interesting.
