Cusco: City and Nearby Ruins 5-Hour Guided Tour

1. Cusco: City and Nearby Ruins 5-Hour Guided Tour

Your 5-hour tour begins in the early afternoon with a pick-up at your accommodation in downtown Cusco. Begin by visiting the Coricancha Sun Temple, a wonderful ceremonial construction built during the heyday of the Incas. Your next stop is the Plaza de Armas, Cusco’s main square. Admire the spectacular interiors of the Cathedral as your guide explains how it was built on top of Inca buildings.  Then enjoy a drive to the northern outskirts of Cusco to the spectacular Inca complex at Sacsayhuaman. Pass through the openings of the huge Inca walls, built with massive rocks weighing up to 180 tons fitted with absolute perfection. Continue to another important Inca site, known as Qenqo (zigzag). This very unusual place has subterranean passages hidden in its perfectly carved stone interior. It is likely that the Incas probably mummified their dead here. Visit the Inca baths at Tambomachay and the military lookout point of Puka Pukara. Be driven back to downtown Cusco where your tour ends.

Great tour through the city and surrounding Inca sites. As you are visiting 6 sights in 6 hours the schedule is tight and it's important to follow the instructions of the guide. All in all a wonderful day full of new experiences and info about Cusco!

We had Miha take us around the archeological sites around and in Cusco. He was amazing. He kept our two teenagers attention and we learned a great deal. The sites were magnificent. I will always get a guide from now on.

The guide(His name was Michael) was great. He gave enough information to learn the places we visited and was gentle. The tour made me develop the understanding of things regarding the city and that of history.

The tour was great. We were able to see all the archaeology sites around Cusco in a single day with a very knowledgeable guide. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

José is an excellent guide for English speakers. Buy tickets to archeological sights in advance. it's easier than buying them on site.
