4. Mexico City: Teotihuacan by Bicycle
After gathering at the tour meeting point, travel to the Pyramid of the Sun. As you travel you can get used to your bicycle, and upon your arrival at the archaeological zone, you can be the first to climb the temple.
Admire the incredible views of the Teotihuacan Valley, before traveling around the circuit that surrounds the pyramids. From there, travel through some of the streets of the towns that surround the archaeological zone, among which are remains of the ancient city.
The narration of your guide helps you to better understand the history and how the inhabitants of this ancient city lived. Throughout your journey, take beautiful photos of the landscape, complete with nopal (cacti), magueye (agave plants), and the pyramids in the background. Dismount your bicycle for a short break whilst enjoying a delicious pulque, a pre-Hispanic drink with mild alcohol content.
The next point on your tour is an entrance to the underworld. Enter a cave to tour its interior, with these caves regarded as mystical spaces for the ancient Teotihuacan. The caves were also symbolic to Mesoamericans as an access point to the place of the dead.
Finally, ride your bicycles through the Tepantitla, a neighborhood of the ancient Teotihuacan City where you can appreciate interesting and colorful murals that provide you with a better idea of how the city looked in its time of splendor.
The final route of your tour sees you heading to a local restaurant where you can taste delicious Mexican dishes as part of an abundant buffet. Following an hour's break at the buffet, your tour concludes with you returning to Mexico City.
