The Hague: Mauritshuis Entrance Ticket

1. The Hague: Mauritshuis Entrance Ticket

Indulge the art-lover in you at the Mauritshuis, home to the best of Dutch paintings from the Golden Age. Explore one of the most iconic buildings in the Hague, located next to the Parliament. Look out of its windows for a view of the pond.  Discover the art museum's compact, yet world-renowned collection. See more than 200 masterpieces such as Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring", "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp" by Rembrandt, "The Goldfinch" by Fabritius, and "The Bull" by Potter on permanent display. Appreciate the collection's rich variety, with genre paintings by Jan Steen, landscapes by Jacob van Ruisdael, still lifes by Adriaen Coorte, and portraits by Rubens. Admire the 17th-century monument's historic yet intimate interior, with its silken wall coverings, sparkling chandeliers, and monumental painted ceilings. Stay as long as you wish and visit the museum at your own pace. Allow around 1.5 hours, which is the average visit duration. Visit the restaurant and coffee shop, purchase some souvenirs, or visit the temporary exhibition. The anniversary year concludes with a very special exhibition: ten paintings from The Frick Collection in New York. This will be a one-time opportunity to view this selection of paintings in Europe, which (with one exception) left the continent more than a hundred years ago and have been in the United States ever since. From September 29 to January 15, the greatest masterpiece on view will be Rembrandt’s self-portrait from 1658. The painter immortalized himself many times, but many consider this self-portrait to be one of the very best.

I liked the interactive games more than the miniatures in general, because they looked the same as 40 years ago, although well preserved. We took a 3D photo and we have still received it; How can I claim it or is it normal that it takes so long to arrive?

The museum needs about a couple of hours to view. It doesn’t have a large collection but has some very famous pieces of art. Good to have the audio guide downloaded. Go earlier as it gets pretty crowded.

Staff at the Mauritshuis were wonderful, they imparted interesting information about the paintings and were very helpful yet not intrusive.

The exhibition has been renovated since the last visit. New indoor entertainments were added.

Es war spannend und gut gemacht. Eine witzige Art den Urlaubsort zu entdecken.
