Paris: Versailles Golf Cart & Bike Tour with Palace Entry

2. Paris: Versailles Golf Cart & Bike Tour with Palace Entry

Explore the Palace of Versailles and its gardens on an educational yet fun guided day trip. Tour the Palace of Versailles Gardens on a golf cart. Cycle to the Petit Trianon and Grand Trianon. Enjoy a typical French picnic lunch with wine. Then, skip the line to tour inside the palace on your own. Our journey begins at the main entrance of the Palace, at Place d'Arme, located at the foot of the majestic golden gate (Grille Royale). We will first head towards the south parterre, located on the opposite side of the Palace, where our rides (Golf Carts) will be waiting for us (If you wish to drive the Golf Cart please bring your driving license or a picture of it on your mobile). Our Golf Carts are the perfect way to travel through the amazing Royal Gardens and discover all the wonderful hidden groves and fountains created by the infamous André Le Nôtre. Sit back and relax or take the wheel and enjoy the beauty of formal French Gardens while our Guide tells you all about it. After our hour-long journey through the Groves and the Apollon Pond, we’ll arrive at the Grand Canal. We will then trade our carts for bikes (we have hundreds of bikes suitable for children, teenagers, and adults) and pedal along the Grand Canal to the Domain of Trianon. There, we'll park the bikes, and our guide will provide you with fascinating historical information about the Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet which you will have free time to explore on your own. You will discover the amazing rustic retreat built for Marie Antoinette, inspired by the traditional architecture of rural Normandy, and the Petit Trianon, where Marie-Antoinette would regularly come to escape the formality of court life and shake off the burden of her royal responsibilities. After the visit to the Petit Trianon, it will be time for our typical French picnic-lunch break from the iconic Angelina tearoom and restaurant. Get some rest and enjoy a choice of white, rosé, or red wine while our guide continues telling you fun and historical facts about French Monarchy. Once we have regained our strength, we will cycle to the Grand Trianon, and you will have free time to explore this amazing pink marble Palace. Louis XIV used this enchanting palace to get away from the court and pursue his affair with Madame de Montespan. We will then cycle along the Grand Canal and enjoy the breathtaking view further from the Palace. Then we’ll head to the Neptune fountain where we will leave our bikes and make our way back to the front of the Palace, crossing through more beautiful Groves, such as the marvelous Bosquet des trois fontaines. You can then access the Palace on your own, at the end of the Tour, when it is less crowded, with a skip-the-line ticket. From there you will be able to explore, at your own pace, the iconic royal residence of the French Monarchy and its most famous room: the magnificent hall of mirrors.

Honestly one of the best tours we went on during our trip. Cecilia met our group in Paris and we took a train to Versailles. Cycling around Versailles was great and pretty easy (compared to walking). She told us very interesting stories at each site we went to. In a day we saw all three palaces, had lunch at Angelina’s (No picnic due to the weather). We were given ponchos for our bike tour, since it rain a bit. 10/10 would recommend!

This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. Versailles was beautiful, and our tour guide, Arnaud, was the AMAZING. He made the tour really fun and interesting with his recommendations, jokes, and knowledge. The bike ride was great with the beautiful scenery and certainly gave me a workout. I can’t say enough about this. I will treasure this experience.

We had a terric time with Thiebeu (sp) who absolutely went above and beyond to make our trip to Versailles fun, educational, and stress free. He even rode his bike with me to a local car rental place to make sure I got there on time even though he was well "off the clock" and simply being a great guy. Many thanks, my friend! Ken Bruening

Thibault was absolutely amazing guide. Enjoy the bikes trip, seeing all the grounds, getting all the knowledge was interesting. Unfortunately we thought we didn’t had enough time to see all the palace, not sure is the opening time or organisation

Just perfect in every way! Bikes were great, host was great, and it was easy to travel on the train with the group. Going to the farmers market and having a picnic at Versailles is one of the best things I’ve ever done. Loved every bit of this!
