Full Day Sailing Trip around Skiathos Island

1. Full Day Sailing Trip around Skiathos Island

Depart from the new port of Skiathos at 10:00 am and make a first stop at the small island of Arkos. There you enjoy local snacks and cool juice before the first morning swim on a unique beach. Leaving the island of Arkos, the captain sets sail and you will have the opportunity to learn about sailing, try to navigate the boat or simply sunbathe on the deck. Sometimes you can admire the friendly dolphins which  accompany the boat! Next stop is the isle of Dasia with its blue cave, where you will dive and swim like never before! Afterwards will be the perfect time for local snacks on board, accompanied by an ouzu. Sail to the west side of Skopelos island, full of beaches with clear blue waters and pine trees next to the sea and an ideal spot for yet more diving and swimming. The captain will then take you to the beach of Panormos, which is difficult to find and thus very quiet. Swim and sunbathe almost by yourself before a lunch menu consisting of Greek homemade food is served. Plenty of wine and some fruit is offered as a dessert. Later the captain sets sail towards the island of Tsougrias where you can see a spectacular sunset. There you can swim one last time and taste a sweet delight offered by the crew. Then the trip comes to an end as the boat returns to the port of Skiathos.

Thessaloniki: Private Guided Tour to Meteora

9. Thessaloniki: Private Guided Tour to Meteora

Enjoy a private tour to the stunning Meteora rocks from Thessaloniki. Discover magnificent monasteries built between the 14th-16th centuries, and marvel at how the monks even managed to construct them in the first place. After convenient pickup at your accommodation in Thessaloniki, make your way toward Meteora. As you arrive through narrow winding rows, catch an awe-inspiring first glimpse of the Great Monastery, as it is commonly known. Try to fathom the majesty and size of a building constructed atop a huge sandstone column. Upon arrival, drive up to the monasteries in the cooler morning hours, giving you time to see as much of the site as possible. As you climb up the hill toward the first monastery, wonder how on earth the monks managed to build this incredible place. Building materials could only be brought up by a system of ropes, baskets, and pulleys, and the same went for getting provisions in and out of the community. One of the monasteries you will visit is the Holy Trinity, which is the most isolated and most difficult to reach. For this reason, it makes sense to choose to tackle the 140 steps to reach it first. Revel in the reward of phenomenal panoramic views, and see why Holy Trinity was given a starring role in the James Bond film, “For Your Eyes Only.” St. Stephen's is probably the most accessible monastery as it's situated on the plain, rather than perched on a vertiginous clifftop. Join the friendly cats who love to bask on the sun-drenched walls outside this little monastery. Admire the carved door furniture and the way the sun hits the stone and casts long shadows, and get a glimpse into monastic life through the little, open monk's cell at St. Nicholas. On the way out of the Grand Meteoron Monastery (the largest of the 6), don’t forget to follow a time-honored tradition by slipping a little note into the crack in the rocks. Finally, end your tour in Kalampaka for lunch, and relish finger-licking meals fresh from the farms around. The tour concludes with drop-off back at your accommodation in Thessaloniki.

What people are saying about Thessaly

Our tour guide Maria was phenomenal, we had an excellent driver and before the start of our train ride we have an agent Dimitrius who was exceptional. He went above and beyond is call of duty to ensure that the entire group would be on the same tour and even at the end he checked to ensure that we had arrived safely back into Athens. It was great but the staff was more amazing!

A very long but enjoyable day! We saw three different monastery and all were beautiful. Our guide was very informative and knew a lot about the history of the area. She was a local and it was fun to hear her stories about adventuring through the area when she was a child!

Very good transportation, if I had booked an earlier time, I would have probably seen all 6 monasteries, but even with a later start time my guide was able to get me to see most of the Monasteries, which was really awesome.

I loved the day! We were accompanied by a great guide and a great driver. On the other hand, the train is indeed very long, especially when it is late along the way... You have to plan something to take care of!

Natalie and Alkimonas were the best! Definitely recommend it if you are looking for something chill and relaxing.
