We visited Toledo in October and had the pleasure of spending the day with Javier. He's pretty passionate and knowledgeable about his hometown, and he's full of insights and stories to tell. Javi took care of all the trip details, including having a taxi waiting to take us for a panoramic ride, up to ensure we had a lunch reservation at a great restaurant. We enjoyed his company, valuable tips, friendliness, and overall discovering Toledo with a great guide. The highlight of our visit was visiting the Cathedral, which I recommend doing together with Javier.

We visited Toledo, the long-time capital of Spain, on a perfect day. We took the train station from Madrid from the Atoche Station at 9:20 and our guide met us at the train station at 9:53. Buy your tickets on line and even though you may not know your return time, you can always exchange your ticket for an earlier (but not later) departure. The cathedral is stunningly beautiful with unique art and history. The Jewish section of town is interesting as well, with but two remaining synagogues, one with Moorish architecture, the other with a comprehensive history of Judaism in general and in Spain specifically. Our guide took us into the basement of a Jewish home with a hidden Mikvah which we suspect was used by Marranos. We ended with El Greco's "Burial of the Count of Orgaz", surely his greatest painting. The guide also gave us a great recommendation for lunch, and after wandering for another couple hours we returned to Madrid at 5:30. Our best day in Spain.

Great guide!

Our guide was very good. He was personable & informative. His English was clear & his volume adequate to hear. He also helped us get back on the train to retrieve sunglasses & contacted our taxi driver to retrieve a cell phone. SUPERIOR care of his group. Our apologies for the necessity.
