From Venice: Dolomites, Lake Misurina, and Cortina Day Trip

1. From Venice: Dolomites, Lake Misurina, and Cortina Day Trip

Enjoy a memorable day exploring Europe's most beautiful range of mountains. During the day you'll make numerous stops at scenic viewpoints, walk around lakes, enjoy a Cortina city tour and walk on level terrain up in the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, from where you can enjoy a splendid view over this majestic mountain range. The beauty of the Dolomites is in their diversity. It will feel as if you have travelled from one mountain range to another such is the stark variation in scenery. During your Dolomites tour, you'll see glaciers in the distance, soaring peaks, emerald green lakes surrounded by forests of pine and larch with reflections of the mountains mirrored on their calm waters, and typical Tyrolean villages clinging to the mountainsides. At the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, at an altitude of 2,360m (7,500 ft), you'll enjoy one of the best views of the mountains, where you can gaze out across a myriad of peaks and valleys as far as the eye can see. Visit the cosmopolitan Cortina and walk around its delightful centre to peruse the many picturesque shops. And after a fulfilling day spent in the Dolomites, sit back and relax on the way back to Venice through the ever-changing scenery of the mountains illuminated by the late afternoon sun.

Following your pick-up from various points in the Lake Garda region, including Limone, Riva del Garda and Bardolino, transfer to Venice with a short coffee break (at your expense) near Soave. Arrive in Venice by 11:00 AM and hop on a private boat and cross the lagoon to St. Mark's. Take a 40-minute walking tour of St. Mark's Square, complete with a guide and headphones, and see some of the city’s most famous landmarks, such as St. Mark's Basilica, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Campanile. Stroll the main streets to the Rialto Bridge and other monuments of “La Serenissima.” Learn more about the Republic of Venice and how it came to dominate the east and the west as the “Queen of the Adriatic.” The central district is teeming with beautiful squares, canals, crumbling mansions, ancient churches, artist workshops, and bridges — all of which you get to admire on this tour. In the afternoon, get some free time to relax and explore Venice on your own. Go off the beaten path for a more authentic look at everyday life in the city, or just sit back and people-watch in one of the many cafés of Piazza San Marco. At the end of the day trip, jump back on the boat to get from St. Mark's Square to the transfer bus at approximately 5:45 PM.

Very great trip! The excursion was perfectly organized from departure to return. Great guide and bus driver. Only recommended if you don't want to stress yourself and still want to see Venice.

Everything was very well organized. Tour guide super friendly and explained everything in very good German. Bus was very punctual. The pickup location very easy to find.

Beautiful tour, lots of lovely stops for photos and exploring. A great taste of the Dolomites without having to spend a fortune on lodging/food.
