UNREAL EXPERIENCE!!!!! The most surreal experience being able to walk around the reindeer pen with buckets of food and take scenic pictures with the mountains behind you! Our Sami Guide was fabulous, she had a very strong sense of humour and the interesting and personal stories she tells you blow you away. We had a reindeer stew which was by far the nicest the hot meal whilst we stayed in Tromsø and our guide made sure you could have some more if you were still hungry. You got hot chocolate and other hot drinks, some bread and biscuits which is very generous. Our Sami guide showed us traditional Sami clothing and answered any questions we had. The journey is around 45 minutes from the centre city with beautiful views along the way! Absolute value for money and amazing to learn about the Sami Culture. Please book here if you go to Tromsø. I can’t remember our Sami Guides name but if she is blonde and a real good sense of humour you are in for a treat. Thank you!!!!

Once we arrived we’ve been splited into 2 groups, the first was going for sledding first, the other one for feeding, and then we switched. I would personally recommand to either : - Go sledding first if you are a bit scared of animals as the reindeers were super hungry and so a bit pushing. It can be a bit scaring even though they are very nice animal and no one has been hurt. After the first group they’re probably a bit less hungry, thus a bit less pushing. - Go feeding first if you’re not a cold person, as if you go sledding first you will be cold during the ride, and the feeding is right after, which means you might not stay that long for feeding because you will be too cold ! After the activities we got tea, biscuits and the meal (note that if you don’t take the vegetarian option, you will get a reindeer meal), and personal stories from the Sami guide. Nb : if you’ve only booked for feeding, which was my case, you can decide to finally go for sledding too, for 40 more euros

Kina offered us an incredibly special experience - the reindeer are sweet (but bossy) and being able to spend time with them was so much fun! We could’ve hung out with them all day! Kina shared history and culture of the Sámi people, but also very personal stories and experiences, which was an honor. The food is amazing (reindeer stew very delicious and the vegetarian option is quite tasty!) and the view is unmatched so far on our trip. Being allowed the opportunity to learn and understand more about the indigenous culture here was what I was most excited about and the welcome was very warm - everyone should be learning about Sámi culture and how they support the protection of the people and their practices!
