Full description

Embark on a guided sledding experience from Tromsø. Take turns directing the sled or simply enjoy the incredible Arctic scenery. After, trade stories around a warm fire with some hot chocolate and cake.

Hop on the comfortable minibus and drive to the kennel on the island of Kvaløya. Once kitted out, head to the kennel and see the 130 Alaskan Huskies, who are always excited to meet guests.

Get a short demonstration on how to drive a sled and feel free to ask any questions. Then, follow your guide and meet your huskies. Each pair, one passenger, and one driver will have their own sled. Enjoy several opportunities to swap between roles once the trip starts. Finally, head out to the snow and follow the guide along the trail. Take photos throughout the trip and take in the incredible landscapes. After your 90-minute sledding adventure, make your way into the Sami Lavvo for hot drinks and Hege's famous homemade chocolate cake.

Trade stories from the trip around the cozy fireplace until it is time to change out of your suits and hop back on the bus. You will be returned to the pickup point.

This is about the best thing ever! If you love dogs (and even if you don't) it's a great day out. The scenery is amazing, the people running it are great and the dogs are super friendly and just love to run. Really good clothing and boots provided and coffee and cake afterwards in a stove warmed cosy yurt. Plus loads of time to fuss the dogs!

This trip was amazing! I definitely want to experience dog sledding again! Some of my other friends went with other kennels where the dogs fought at times or they didn't get to drive the sled, but at this kennel, all the dogs were super friendly and got along well, you take turns driving the sled and the instructors are all very knowledgeable and kind. I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else.

Feeling so grateful for the lovely weather, sunshine with some light snow! Upon arriving we were given snow suit, warm gloves and boots, and got to meet the dogs briefly before the tutorial, we got to swap about 5 times between passenger and driver and to give the dogs a break as well, the dogs were the loveliest most well socialized bunch I’ve met, with great body condition too! They were so enthusiastic and intelligent during the ride. After we finished we cozied up by the fire w some lovely coffee and cake, while listening to Kat explain how they prioritise the dogs welfare (they are mixed breed and have been bred for calm nature and good genetics, and they work each dog according to individual needs which is so great) then we got lots of time to play with the dogs and photo ops.. what an incredibly perfect day! a once in a lifetime experience (only if you want it to be, we certainly don’t ) thanks to Kat and the guides for making it such a pleasant experience ❤️
