Udaipur, once called the most romantic spot in all of India, is the city of Lakes. This tour covers the most important sites of the city, and ends with a serene sunset at Lake Pichola. Several locations were made famous in the the James Bond movie, Octopussy, filmed here in 1982.  Start your tour at Sajjangarh or the Monsoon Palace, an old dilapidated hunting lodge, perched atop a hillside. It offers fantastic views of the countryside, the Aravalli hills, and Fatehsagar Lake, the next stop on this tour. Step into the Maharaja’s lifestyle at Udaipur City Palace (Rajasthan’s largest palace). Some of these buildings date back 400 years. City Palace Museum has opulently decorated rooms, filled with artifacts and miniatures. Spend approximately two hours here, before heading to the Jagdish temple. Built in 1651, this serene marble temple with stone carvings is dedicated to an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Stop for lunch at a restaurant of your choice, or ask your guide for recommendations (lunch at own expense). Take a relaxing stroll around the lotus pools and fountains at Saheliyon ki Bari. As the day comes to an end, watch the sunset from Lake Pichola. The evening light makes for perfect photo opportunities. You can also choose an optional boat ride for a pleasant end to your full day tour. At the end of the activity, your driver will drop you back to either your hotel, the airport, or railway station in Udaipur.

First up on your tour of Udaipur is the City Palace, the most famous architectural marvel of Udaipur. This palace complex includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and various other buildings. The complex also features a museum, which has a rich collection of royal costumes and a display of Rajput weaponry. Afterwards, you'll be driven to the Shree Jagdish Temple.  The Shree Jagdish Temple is 3 stories high and was built by the Maharana Jagat Singhji in 1651, costing more than 1.5 million rupees. It is now owned and managed by the royal family of Udaipur. After visiting the temple you will then drive to Saheliyon Ki Bari, the most beautiful garden in Udaipur. Then it's a quick stop for lunch before moving on to Pichola Lake.  Here you will enjoy a boat ride with a perfect backdrop of lush green hills. Pichola Lake is the oldest lake in Udaipur and one of the most beautiful lakes in Rajasthan. You will then move to Dudh Talai where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Pichola Lake, Jagmandir Island Palace, Lake Palace, Udaivilas, the Leela Palace, the gorgeous Aravalli ranges and Udiapur old city.

Be greeted by your driver at your accommodation in Udaipur by your guide. Head off for the city palace of Udaipur. Spend 3 hours on a guided tour around the palace complex, built over a period of nearly 400 years with contributions from several rulers of the Mewar dynasty. Visit the famous Jagdish Temple, a large Hindu temple in the middle of Udaipur in Rajasthan, just outside the royal palace. It has been in continuous worship since 1651.  After the guided tour, head to Lake Pichola to join a shared boat tour (self-guided) on the artificial lake., named after the nearby Picholi village, and how it is one of several contiguous lakes developed over the last few centuries in and around Udaipur. Then, relax on your drive back to your accommodation in Udaipur.

At 3:30pm board your chauffeur driven car from your booked hotel in Udaipur. From there, you will be driven to Lake Pichola for a mesmerizing boat ride. As the boat ride begins, you will start to see the majestic views of key monuments lining the lake. Catch a glimpse of the 400 year old City Palace, boasting numerous lavish palaces and see locals washing on the ghats (quay) reached by staircase.    Enjoy the cool breeze as you continue the windy ride, looking out for the massive Havelis (private mansions) on the shore. The most prominent one is Bagore ki Haveli, famous for decorations with intricate and fine work of mirrors. Also, do not forget to spot the distant view of Monsoon Palace, perched on the Aravalli hills. Finally, as the time flows, watch the gorgeous sunset view disappearing into the horizon. After the boat ride you, get back in the car and you will be safely dropped back to your booked hotel.

Be picked up by your driver at 3:00pm from your booked hotel and leave for boat ride on an artificial freshwater lake in Udaipur city, Lake Pichola. Board the jetty from and set off on mesmerizing boat ride. The lake is dotted by small islands in the middle boasting historical palaces. On this boat ride you will see spectacular views of major monuments resting on the edge of lake. The sights from boat ride include: Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir, Arsi Vilas, Bagore ki Haveli, City Palace, Monsoon Palace, etc.  Next, head towards Bagore ki Haveli by jetty to enjoy a cultural puppet dance show. Spend an entertaining evening with an amusing show exhibiting wonderful coordination of puppets. After the show, proceed to dinner at a local restaurant where you can try lip-smacking Rajsthani cuisine prepared from variety of indigenous spices. Day 1 - Pick-Up in Delhi and Delhi Sightseeing Tour. Pick-up from your hotel in Delhi/Gurgaon/Noida or Airport in Delhi at 9am. Embark on an Old and New Delhi sightseeing tour. City Palace The grand City Palace, towering over the Pichola Lake, is one of the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. The splendid palace, originally built by Maharana Uday Singh II, rises 30 meters above Lake Pichola and extends up to 244 meters. The City Palace has number of small and big palaces, museums and the gardens. There are many popular palaces inside the City Palace Complex. The unique aspect of this conglomeration is that the architectural design (a rich blend of Rajasthani, Mughal, Medieval, European and Chinese Architecture) is distinctly homogeneous and eye catching. The palace complex has been built entirely in granite and marble. Jagdish Temple Jagdish Temple is a large Hindu temple in the middle of Udaipur in Rajasthan. A big tourist attraction, the temple was originally called the temple of Jagannath Rai but is now called Jagdish-ji. Located 150m north of the palace in Indo-Aryan architectural style, the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. . Dudh Talai A small lake surrounded with beautiful, structured and precisely manicured garden with fountains and beautiful rocks. Pichola Lake An artificial fresh water lake, created in the year 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. The lake�s surroundings and the several islands within the lake have been developed over the centuries, with palaces, marble temples, family mansions, and bathing ghats. Fateh Sagar Lake An artificial lake constructed by Maharana in north of Lake Pichola in 1678 and to the north-west of Udaipur. Within the confines of the Fateh Sagar Lake, there are three small islands.; the largest of these is called the Nehru Park, the second island houses a public park with an impressive water-jet fountain and the third island is the address for the Udaipur Solar Observatory. Saheliyon Ki Bari Built by Maharana Bhopal Singh. Saheliyon ki Bari means Garden of the Maids. This garden area lies in northern part of the city and has fountains and kiosks, a lotus pool and marble elephants. Each water channel has its distinct sound and the mingling of these sounds complement the ambience of the place. Bagore Ki Haveli An old building built right on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. The palace has over a hundred rooms, with displays of costumes and modern art. The building has a large and exquisite collection of Mewar painting and glassworks. In the evening, the haveli lightens and stages enjoyable performance of traditional dance and music of Rajasthan. These performances are most sought among the foreigners, and you can find a large gathering in the evening. Sukhadia Circle A large roundabout in the city's northern suburb of Panchwati, on the road to Ranakpur and Mt. Abu. centrepiece of the Circle is a large, three-tiered fountain just over 21 m. high, with scalloped dishes surmounted by a wheat-ear motif, representing prosperity. Illuminated at night, it is now a well-known landmark.
