      Take a self-guided audio tour onboard the world’s longest-serving aircraft carrier, the historic USS Midway. See the carrier’s 25 restored aircraft from the days of WWII to Operation Desert Storm. Visit areas throughout the Midway, from the crew's sleeping quarters to the pilots' ready rooms. Docents are available throughout the carrier and are eager to share their stories, anecdotes, and statistics, creating a picture of just how important the USS Midway was to the U.S. Navy. Most guests spend 3 to 4 hours exploring this historic aircraft carrier and learning its history. The included audio guide, available in 6 languages, will help you explore the dozens of highlighted areas across the massive ship.  There are family-oriented activities throughout the Museum. Included are 3 types of flight simulators, music videos, short films, climb-aboard aircraft and cockpits, and more. The Museum is located at the Navy Pier in downtown San Diego.

      • The USS Midway Foundation is a non-profit organization. Please consider making a donation on the check-out page
      • Kids are free in October. 2 free children (6-12) admission tickets with each adult ticket. No child ticket is required at checkout. Child tickets are issued at the ticket booth when the adult ticket is shown
      • Admission is complimentary for children 5 years old or younger, as well as for active-duty military personnel (including reservists) with valid ID (daytime admission only)
      • You may arrive at any time during opening hours (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Note that the last admission is at 4:00 PM daily
      • The museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day

      We used getyourguide to purchase our USS Midway Museum tickets. Entry into the museum proceeded as desired. The museum was excellent. The displays provided a sense of what living and working on the Midway was like. The variety of aircraft was extensive. The best part though was the individual explaining how to land an aircraft on the deck of a Navy carrier. His talk was excellent and he should be commended.

      We spent over 4 hours touring the USS Midway! This piece of history is something everyone should experience! Retired USN sailors were throughout who served on this ship to speak with us and answer questions which added incredible authenticity and emotion. We would go again if we had time in San Diego. Live it- you won't regret it.

      Really well organised tour. Audio tour is free and very good. Must have it to appreciate the history of the ship. Indeed and in general there is lots of information available about the role of the ship. The staff are extremely attentive. Allow 3 hours minimum. Restaurant in the hanger is ok.
