Full description
Visit Arches National Park and enjoy a gourmet charcuterie board for lunch. Hike to Delicate Arch and take in views of the incredible nature and landscape along the way. This is a moderate, 3-mile, roundtrip hike. Meet your guide and begin your hike at the trailhead for Delicate Arch, Wolf Ranch. At this abandoned ranch, get a glimpse into the past lives of the settlers who arrived in the park. Travel further back in time as you see a wall of petroglyphs across the creek from the ranch. Head to the Devil’s Garden and have a geological discussion on how the park's fins were created, and eventually became the park you see today. Stop for lunch here and enjoy a gourmet charcuterie board picnic with cured meats, cheese, fruits, vegetables, nuts, crackers, and spreads. Afterward, take a mostly paved trail to reach Landscape Arch, the world's longest natural arch. Then go to Pine Arch, named for the pine tree nestled right beneath the arch. This arch is a great spot to stop for pictures. Continue on to the Windows. North Window, South Window, and Turret Arch make up the Windows section of the park. A short path with stone steps leads you to an up-close and personal look at the arches. See the Double Arch, one of the most photographed arches in the park. Double Arch is a pothole-style arch, formed by water pooling at the top and eventually eroding its way through the ceiling of the alcove. Towards the end of your hike, go to Park Avenue and see its sandstone cliffs along a dry way wash. Park Avenue is also home to one of the more curious balancing rocks.
