Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

Delve deep into Venice’s history with a 3-hour guided tour of St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge's Palace, either as a private tour or shared group experience. Take in two of the city’s most important landmarks while discovering the history of the one-time mercantile capital of the Mediterranean.  Start by exploring St. Mark's Square with your guide before heading into the cathedral. From the first-floor terrace you’ll be able to admire views across the lagoon and see the famous bronze horses up close. Hear how they traveled all the way to Paris and back in Napoleon’s time.  Next, you’ll use the priority entrance to reach Doge's Palace, formerly the residence of the leader of the Republic of Venice. Enjoy visiting the Chamber of the Great Council and courtrooms among other things. Highlights include frescoes by Tintoretto and the Giants’ Staircase.  After this, cross the infamous Bridge of Sighs that links to the New Prisons. Learn how the bridge got its name and the purpose for its construction in the 17th century as you take in the amazing views of the canals. At the end of your tour, feel free to stay and explore the Doge’s Palace with tips from your guide.

Very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of these locations. It's such an amazing experience. Also, we showed up about 10 minute late because we got lost. Not only did they walk us to the Doge palace to find our group, they offered to place us in another group, called the guides to find their location and made sure we still got the experience the excursion. They went above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Hello - Our tour was absolutely fantastic ! Federica our tour guide was an absolute joy. She was warm, attentive and highly knowledgeable. We got to learn all about the Basilica and the Palace through the eyes of a native venetian. The tour lasted 3 hours but it was so engrossing that it flew by. I also appreciate how considerate the tour guide was of my elderly father, taking pauses when necessary. And when the tour ended she gave us great recommendations for the city - (that didn't feel like we were being directed to a tourist trap) All in all it was a fantastic tour - which I would highly recommend - especially if Federica is your tour guide !

The best tour we had in Italy including the Vatican and Colosseum! We were in a group of around 10 guests and our tour guide Marina was wonderful; very friendly and knowledgeable. It was also very interesting to hear her speak as a Venetian what it’s like to live in the city. Would highly recommend!
