    Learn what it meant to be a prisoner back in those days: what prisoners ate, drank, and where they slept. See actual graffiti left by inmates and listen to the story about Casanova’s exciting jailbreak.

    Hear the myths and legends that still live inside these cold walls and cells. Enjoy the explanation of the powerful Council of The Ten, which consisted of the highest Venice politicians, that oversaw the justice system in all Venetian domains. 

    Nowadays the prison’s palace that overlooks the stunning Riva Degli Schiavoni is the seat of the Artistic Circle, which offers its guests different cultural experiences and concerts. Yet still, you can feel the presence of the rich history when walking through the halls of the ancient prison.

    Really interesting and insightful tour. Our young guide did three languages in the same tour and was so impressive! Great to have real historical artefacts to see and the ability to walk through the actual cells was brilliant. Only 60 minutes long, just long enough to keep your attention. Thoroughly recommend!

    We enjoyed this tour. The guide was energetic and told us lots of interesting information. But we shared our English speaking tour with a French speaking tour. So the guide would say everything in French and then say it all over again in English. Again, it was interesting but the tour quite literally took twice as long.

    Excellent experience. Wasn't so sure after reading reviews however we had a great time. It's a little difficult to find, if you head towards the bridge of sighs, it is right next door to it. It looks like an art museum and is not titled as casanovas prison walking tour but it is the correct place! Head up the stairs
