An exceptional experience - worth waiting for St Marks after hours. Only 30 people in the Basilica (3 groups of 10). Very dramatic lighting show from nearly dark to the glow of the gold mosaics. Additionally we were able to enter the crypt which is not accessible during regular visiting hours. Our guide was outstanding and pointed out the story of each mosaic. The only “surprise “ was the 2.5 hour break between Doge Palace and the Basilica - a great opportunity to have dinner break.

Visiting the Doge's Palace and Saint Mark's Basilica in the evening is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend it. There are about ten of us in the halls of the palace, which is nice. Likewise, to see the basilica in private, in the barely shade, without noise, then suddenly, light up with a thousand lights. What show !

We didn’t know what to expect. Doing the night tour was a great decision. It was a small group but way less crowded in the palace and St Marks. The prison was also interesting. Because we were the only group in St Marks we got to see so much more. Well worth the price.
