Full description

Dig deeper into Italy's culture and history with a trip from Venice to Verona. Travel by train with a guide and go on a walking tour of Verona’s main sights, such as Ponte Pietra over the Adige River, a Roman amphitheater, Lamberti Tower, and more.

Depart from Venice by train accompanied by a guide. Upon arrival in Verona, follow your guide on a walking route to reflect on the artistic and architectural legacy of the Roman, Renaissance, and medieval times.

Walking on the cobbled streets of Verona's UNESCO-listed historic center, observe what the daily life of its inhabitants looks like. Pass by top attractions including Piazza delle Erbe, Porta dei Borsari, Lamberti Tower, and the Verona Arena in Piazza Bra.

End the walking tour by the Adige River, at the Ponte Pietra. Then, enjoy free time to explore Verona on your own. You can walk along the riverbank, take photos of its colorful streets, or enjoy an Italian aperitif (at your own expense).

At the end of the tour, make a return journey back to Venice by train.

We booked an English tour but turned out to be the only 2 English speaking people - the rest were Spanish. Our tour guide was pleasant enough to translate most of the time but i don't think everything she said and showed us was fully explained to us the same way. I could understand some of the Spanish questions being asked but not all the responses and they didn't get translated into English. We also noticed the guide pointed a lot more monuments when she was speaking Spanish vs English so I feel like we missed out solely because we didn't speak Spanish. I understand not everyone speaks English but I booked an English tour for this reason and I don't know if we really experienced Verona the same way the others did with the limited information we got. When traveling from place to place the guide spoke in Spanish with the others while we followed behind. It would be best to keep the languages separate.

Guide was not very experienced and her English was not good. No interaction with clients except very succinct explanation in each stop. We appreciate her efforts but we could have seen the same things 3 stops by ourselves.
