Full description

Discover the magic of the wonderful city of Verona and the regions of Amarone and Valpolicella. Head over to the medieval towns of the Valpolicella region and enjoy a chance to visit the 13th-century church of San Giorgio.

There, admire the church's splendid altar, dating back to 712 A.D., as well as some of the most beautiful panoramic views of Sirmione and Lake Garda. From here, drive to a vineyard to have a guided visit and learn more about the famous Amarone wine. Taste some of the different wines they produce and have a chance to purchase a few bottles to take with you, such as Amarone and Recioto della Valpolicella.

Onward, travel to the city of Verona at Piazza Bra, where the world-famous Roman Amphitheater – the 3rd largest in Italy - is located. It dates back to the 1st-Century A.D. and boasts more than 22,000 seats, making it a perfect venue for outdoor operas and concerts. Enjoy approximately 3 hours of free time (with optional lunch) to enable you to visit the house of Juliet (from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet), the historical Piazza delle Erbe, and some of the exclusive shops around the city. Then just sit back and enjoy the views as you return to Venice.

We had a really great day out. Our guide was fantastic! The tour at the winery was very informative and we tasted some excellent wines. The time in Verona was also a treat, we got a map with the main sites and could explore the city. It is well worth seeing.

Simone was our driver/tour guide. He was very informative, funny, courteous, and very professional. Elena was our wine host with Stefano Accordini Valpolicella Winery. She also was very informative on the wine process and grapes. Our daughter got engaged on this trip, both Simone and Elena went out of their way making it even more special. Highly recommend this experience.

Extremely good tour and driver.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the driver was very good, as there is quite a lot of time motoring through the industrial area before arriving at the interesting parts of the tour. We loved the ancient town to which the driver took us. It was a pity the coffee shop was closed (because it was Monday) however we had a treat because there were some wonderful musicians playing (by chance) music composed by Mendelssohn in the Church! The countryside and views were lovely and Verona was very special. Everything there was much better than our expectations - streets, buildings, shops, gardens, arena, cafes/restaurants/places to eat, - and it was such fun to see "Juliet's balcony". We're so happy we went.
