This was a great value for money. The best part about this trip was the tour guide, Robert, who was extremely accomodating and had great insight and knowledge into the history and culture of the places. His English was very good and he did storytelling in a passionate, captivating way.

The tour guides were excellent for the most part. In Segovia, they split the group into two, one for those who speak English and one for those who speak Spanish. When we got to Avila we only had one guide. The guide did a good job switching from Spanish to English, however there were some descriptions of sights that were never translated to English, and some when translated seemed much shorter explanations than in Spanish. Luckily, i know some Spanish and could follow along enough when needed. However, I still think they did a great job navigating a group of 50+ people who speak different languages. I wish we had more time in both areas and I wish I saw more. Avila felt particularly short, maybe 45 minutes. If I had known what I know now, I would have tried to do each as their own tour. I would recommend to go on your own for lunch and not buy the lunch. The views and sites at both places were like no other. So I would recommend to go on a tour and visit these places!

It is a very quick tour and has to be, taking in two cities in a day. the good points were the speedy transfers between stops and the sights on show. on the negative side, the coach was cramped and uncomfortable for taller people, while on the Avila leg of the excursion we were left with one guide to 70 people, explaining everything in Spanish and then English which slowed everything down.
