Full description

Discover the historic sites and monuments in Avila and Segovia on a guided day trip from Madrid. Admire the exterior of the Ávila Walls and see the Roman Aqueduct. Begin in downtown Madrid and travel to the cities of Avila and Segovia by coach.

See the exterior of the Ávila Walls that surround the city that was completed in just 10 years, between the 11th and 14th centuries. Then, visit the interior of the Basilica of San Vicente known as The Basilica of the Holy Brothers Martyrs, Vicente, Sabina, and Cristeta.

Pass through the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral to reach the Church-convent of Santa Teresa and explore the outside of the church. Once the visit to Ávila is finished, enjoy free time to have a wine, a soft drink, and an aperitif and to have lunch or continue visiting the city.

Go to the city of Segovia and visit the Roman Aqueduct, which is the highest and best-preserved. Pass through the Casa de los Picos, Plaza de Juan Bravo, and Plaza Mayor where you'll find the Cathedral, dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and of San Frutos.

Finish at El Alcázar de Segovia, a medieval fortress, located on a rocky crag on the confluence of two rivers near the Sierra de Guadarrama, it is one of the most distinctive castles-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape, like the prow of a ship.

The guide Fernando is excellent. The visit to Ávila was great, with the guide Gloria. The only thing that they tell us on the bus is that the tour does not include a guided visit to some monuments, that you would have to pay €28 per person, and in Segovia it did not include anything, nothing with a guide, that is, it was: This is Segovia, you go all out straight down this street and see you in two hours at the aqueduct. The included lunch is tasty and the place is nice.

Really good tour of two historic cities, from Madrid. It was a long day and at times seemed a bit hurried, but to cram both into a single day is bound to mean having less time than you might have wanted in each place. It gave a great introduction to Avila and Segovia and I'd love to return to both in future for a more leisurely visit.

We had the tour without entrance tickets. This gave you some time during the walking tours to look around and buy something. The guide told a lot and had a good route. Pay attention to your own safety because it was a large group and the guide gave no instructions about where you could stand still and where not. We were given no instructions in advance what was going to happen and signal from the receiver was poor because the guide blew into the microphone or walked too far away from the group. We recommend the tour because it was very beautiful what you got to see
