From the peak of Mt. Rigi, let your gaze wander over the Swiss Midlands with 13 shimmering lakes and 620 snow-capped Alpine peaks. Enjoy some free time at the top to explore one of the many hiking trails, take in a moment of silence at the Rigi Kulm mountain chapel, or enjoy a meal at a restaurant. Take a cogwheel train to the car-free village of Rigi Kaltbad. Stroll across the quaint village square to find the Mineralbad and Spa designed by the renowned Swiss architect Mario Botta.

If you like, follow an easy hiking trail to the Känzeli viewing platform and admire the impressive Alpine ranges from a different perspective. Spectacular scenery! We couldn’t have asked for a better day to visit Mt Riggi. The various forms of transport are public and were very crowded which did make the trip less comfortable. As this was billed as a private tour we had expected to receive more information from our guide, such as history of Lucerne etc… however this wasn’t our experience, hence the good vs excellent rating.

The good thing about this experience we were only 4 people with a guide - therefore you get the most attention and the guide ensured that we were quicker on the waiting lines. The best of this tour is the scenic view of lake Lucerne on the way to Mt. Rigi and the cable car experience from Kaltbald to Weggis.
