  • Garden Route National Park: Tsitsikamma Zipline Canopy Tour

    1. Garden Route National Park: Tsitsikamma Zipline Canopy Tour

This is a unique eco-wilderness adventure that takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest. Most of the platforms are located in giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees. The scenery and bird life is spectacular and professional guides provide interesting facts about the forest ecology during the 2.5 to 3 hours. The concept of guiding people through the upper canopy of a rainforest originated in Costa Rica, where adventurous biologists devised new methods for accessing the forest canopy in order to conduct research on the undiscovered canopy ecosystem. The idea soon developed into a breathtaking form of eco-tourism which allowed people to enter and experience a previously inaccessible natural environment. The tour begins with a detailed safety briefing followed by a kitting up session where full body harness, pulleys, and climbing equipment is issued and checked. A short d...

Enjoy views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean at the summit with snacks and coffee provided before heading back down the mountain to the meeting point.

It was realllllly windy but Kyle assured it would be safe, just a bit challenging. I was a bit nervous but I’m so glad I went, it was FANTASTIC. Expect some fairly strenuous climbing but nothing anyone with a normal level of fitness can’t handle. The views all the way up are amazing but nothing beats the view from the top - absolutely breathtaking. Kyle was a very friendly guide who made us feel safe. The rooibos tea and snacks in the cafe were a great touch.

Day 1: Cape Town to Oudtshoorn Travel route around 450 km Leave Cape Town early in the morning and trade the silhouette of Table Mountain for the lush green scenery of the Garden Route. This was one of the best experiences of my life. Our tour guide JP is simply the best guide you could wish for on a tour like this. He made sure that we as guests were always happy, he was more than happy to answer all our questions regarding all these amazing animals that we saw on that weekend and also all our questions regarding this amazing country which I definitely plan on visiting again in the future. We saw all the animals that I at least wanted to see, including rhinos, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, water bucks, and of course lions! And all of them in a distance of 4-20 meters! It was fantastic! Thank you very much JP and Hotspots2c for providing me this experience! I will definitely do it again!

Felix was honestly THE BEST GUIDE we could have asked for. He is incredibly knowledgeable and is truly SUCH a delight to have done with! He even went out of his way to reserve a really nice, sea-facing restaurant for us with beautiful ocean views. The tour itself is beautiful but it was truly spectacular because of Felix and his role in the tour. I would recommend him to ANYONE looking for an amazing experience :)

Jean Luc was a very knowledgeable guide who spent all day with us. There were only two of us on the trip but we each got personal attention. We saw penguins, ostriches, hyrax, baboons and some amazing scenery. Jean Luc knew every inch of that area.

I can really recommend the tour to anyone who has little time to explore the city. All important and interesting places were shown. The pick-up and the tour were on top and the guide was super friendly. Worthwhile every second !!!!!!

Couldn’t have been better. Our Guide “Ray” was the best and worked with us on all requests.

That was amazing tour. Our guide was very attentive and the tour ran very well.
