As a couple in our sixties we were looking for a day out that wasn’t too adventurous or strenuous, so that I could manage with my minor health and mobility issues. This was a rare tour not focused on snorkelling or water activities, but offered a walk to the hilltop that overlooked the swirling sands of Whitehaven beach. Plus we travelled on a comfortable enclosed boat, and both morning and afternoon tea, and lunch, were included. As it turned out, the tendering process, stepping into a smaller boat to go to shore then wading with bare feet over pebbles, was a little difficult for me due to issues of nerve damage in my feet, but then we went on the half hour walk up to the look-out with our guide, and I managed that fine. I declined the walk offered on our second trip to shore and opted to stay on the beach instead, enjoying a paddle in the warm waters and sitting on the soft white sand, and watching the kiddies play. Lots of families on this tour, as it suited them well.
