From Skagway: White Pass and Yukon Suspension Bridge Tour
Follow in the footsteps of the 1898 Gold Rush stampeders as you head into the Yukon on this guided tour from Skagway. Catch views of the White Pass Railroad and glacier-covered mountains and cross the border into Canada. Start your adventure by traveling up the Klondike Highway and taking in the passing wildlife and waterfalls. Once into Canada, you'll pass through the subarctic alpine tundra of the Tormented Valley, with views of Summit Lake. Continue through B.C. and stop at Canadian customs at Fraser, and the Yukon Territory. Next, head to the Yukon Suspension Bridge, nestled in between forests. Dare to walk along this 200-foot-long bridge that traverses the Tutshi River. You'll have the chance to spot local animals in their natural habitat. The roaring rapids below provide an impressive backdrop for photos and memories. Visit the Outdoor Interpretive museum and get a better understanding of the region between Skagway and Whitehorse. Hear about the First Nations and the stories of the Gold Rush as the continent was settled.
