Full description
Spend two days learning the history of Oskar Schindler’s life in Krakow. Discover how this German entrepreneur, saved 1,200 Jews during World War II, known mainly thanks to the book "Schindler's Ark" and the film "Schindler's List". Start your tour by walking through the Old Town and the Kazimierz district. Visit the most popular places from the film and learn about the terrible events that took place in Krakow at that time. Then, enjoy a 2-hour break to have some lunch at a café. After lunch, take the tram to the Płaszów district where the Nazi concentration camp was located. Spend some time at the memorial and pay your respects to the victims of this terrible place. On the second day, see the former enamel factory belonging to Schindler, and view the interesting exhibition devoted to the times of the German occupation. After your tour of the enamel factory, have a 2-hour break in a café and relax with some lunch. Finally, meet your guide again and depart by bus to Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the largest and most beautiful salt mines in Europe. Discover the everyday struggle of working in a salt mine, before taking the bus back to Krakow.
