5. Queensland: Cape Tribulation 2-Day Guided Tour w/ Transfers
Experience the best of Cape Tribulation on a 2-day guided tour with an overnight rainforest stay and pickup from Cairns, Port Douglas, or Palm Cove. Meet some of Australia's most iconic wildlife, learn about indigenous customs, and immerse yourself in the stunning natural surroundings of the area.
Day one
Begin with pickup from your accommodation in Cairns, Port Douglas, or Palm Cove and, depending on your pickup location, travel to Port Douglas via The Great Barrier Reef Drive, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal roads.
Visit Flagstaff Hill and enjoy the views before taking a coastal walk down to the famous Four Mile Beach. Visit Wildlife Habitat, wander amongst the free-roaming animals, and experience the ‘CrocArena’ presentation.
If you wish, you can also swim with the crocodiles, and have your photo taken holding a koala, snake, or crocodile (at an extra cost). Lunch is included.
At Mossman Gorge, experience a welcome to the rainforest in the for of a smoking ceremony performed by local indigenous people. Enjoy Mossman Gorge National Park at your leisure or upgrade to a guided dreamtime walk with a local ranger (at an extra cost).
Cross the Daintree River on the cable-driven ferry. Travel along the rainforest-fringed Cape Tribulation Road through the Daintree National Park and learn about the world's oldest tropical rainforest from your guide.
Check in to your rainforest accommodation at Ferntree Rainforest Lodge before going on a night walk. It's the time when the rainforest really comes to life.
Day two
Start by watching the sunrise on the beach. Enjoy some breakfast before you head to Cape Tribulation's famous Kulki Boardwalk and Lookout on a guided rainforest walk.
Afterward, you might choose to take part in a Great Barrier Reef Ocean Safari (at an extra cost) before meeting back up with the tour at lunchtime.
Cool off with a swim in a pristine rainforest stream at Mason’s Swimming Hole. Stop for an award-winning ice cream and refreshments at Daintree Ice Cream Company. Then, head to Wulu-Wugirriga (Alexandra Lookout) and stop to take some photos.
Board a Daintree River cruise and search for wildlife including wild estuarine crocodiles and birds that live in this unique mangrove ecosystem. At Rex Lookout, stop for one last picture before you return to your accommodation.
