Took my three grandkids On this train ride. They loved it. It was a little confusing about the tickets. I did purchase vouchers ahead of time so I did not know I needed to go back through the line and get tickets. Be aware. Train staff was wonderful. Food on the train was great. Train robbery was fun for the kids as well

We went with Railroad Canyon train to have a different experience going to the Grand Canyon because we had been to the Grand Canyon driven by car a few years before. There is a 15 minute Cowboy Show pre-boarding the train. The train ride to the Grand Canyon is more than 2 1/2 hours long. During the ride there are a few announcements and activities to keep the riders informed and entertained. The terrains that the train goes through are mostly barren and some forestry with pine trees.

The train ride was a fun experience. The live entertainment was nice and I especially love the western shootout before the train ride and their train robbery on the way back. I appreciated that the rest room on the car was clean and had a place to wash and dry hands. Michael our attendant on our car was great. He was very helpful, friendly and funny. The only drawback was that you only had about 2 1/2 hours to site see after you arrived. It would be better in the train left at 7:30 in the morning instead of 9:30 since it is a 2hr 15 minute drive one way.
