Full description
Begin this full-day tour of the Lower Silesia with a visit to the magnificent Ksiaz Castle, undoubtedly one of the greatest monuments in the region. The 3rd largest castle in Poland, it is also known as “The Pearl of Lower Silesia,” and is nestled in the picturesque valley of the River Pelcznica. The castle boasts many different architectural styles. Its chambers once hosted distinguished guests, such as John Quincy Adams (one of the U.S.'s first presidents), Winston Churchill, and the emperors of both Germany and Russia. Visit the representative part, find out the history of the rise and fall of the family, hear about the incredible fortune, high society scandals, tragedies, and why the castle still holds some mysteries.  The final site on your tour is the marvelous Church of Peace in Swidnica, rightly earning its place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. A magnificent masterpiece of sacred art, it was originally built by the Protestants out of wood, straw and clay in the 17th century. Swidnica is also the birthplace of World War I air force legend Manfred von Richthofen, also known as the “Red Baron.” You will have the opportunity to see his modest house.

It was a perfect day. Our guide (and very careful driver) explained a lot of interesting things to us during the trip and was there for us at any time. Overall, it was a very relaxed day and although we saw a lot and there was also time for an extensive lunch, there was no stress or hectic pace at any time. The combination of underground tunnels, castle and Friedenskirche was very versatile.

The tour is very interesting, leads to unexpected structures above and in the ground. Implementation without time constraints and responding to special requests. Our tour guide Andreas was very friendly and was able to share many interesting details from his profound knowledge of history. We enjoyed the ride immensely. Jürgen S. from Vienna

The guide was very nice and knowledgeable, but we were rushing most of the day to reach pre-bought tickets with specific times (something we didn't expect with a supposedly private tour). The main reason we purchased this was because of the private tour at the castle, we were added to an English language tour with 15 other people, meaning that we didn't actually get a private tour. Besides this, we had a very enjoyable day and would recommend the tour so long as people know what they are signing up for.
