Your tour starts at 10:00 AM from the local partner's head office in Yerevan. Drive to western Armenia, where your first stop is St. Echmiadzin, the main Armenian Apostolic Church. The Cathedral of Echmiadzin was founded at the beginning of the fourth century and is one of the oldest churches in the world. According to the legend, the church was built in the place where the apparition of Jesus Christ was seen to Gregory the Illuminator in a dream. Your next stop is St. Hripsime's Church, one of the famous ecclesiastical buildings in the city of Echmiadzin. This is the perfect example of cross-cupola churches in Armenia. The Treasures of Echmiadzin Museum is situated in the southeast section of the Cathedral. Unique holy relics and religious art are now housed in the museum.  Your last stop is Zvartnots Temple, which is a result of skillfulness and brave creativity of Armenian architects of the 7th century. During this tour you will visit “The Jewel of Armenia” or the “Geghama Sea” - Lake Sevan, which is one of the largest high-mountainous freshwater lakes in the world. In the northwest part of Sevan Lake, on a narrow rocky peninsula, there stands one of the most prominent examples of medieval Armenian architecture – Sevanavank Monastery. It was founded in 874 AD by princess Mariam. The remnants of the monastery that was constructed in the 9th century include only two temples – Surb Arakelots and Surb Astvatsatsin, standing among numerous khachkars. The church buildings were constructed from black tuff, which probably gave the monastery its name Sevanavank - “the Black Monastery”. After visiting Sevanavank we will go to Noratus, which is famous for its cemetery, the oldest part of which includes over 800 khachkars (stone crosses), carved between the 9th-17th centuries. The carvings are from each period of the art form's development, which are distilled into three main periods: 9th-10th cc, 11th-12th cc and 13th-16th cc. The last stop will be Monastery Haravank, which dates back to the 9th-12th centuries. The three main constructions of the monastery are the church, the chapel and a gavit. The interior of the church is rather simple, but very thrilling when the sun hits the narrow windows of the church. The rays of the sun attack the interior, creating a thrilling sensation of holiness for every single visitor.

Our tour of Armenia starts in the morning with a visit to the Khor Virap Monastery. This ascetic temple stands like a fortress almost at the very foot of Ararat. The austere Khor Virap is an iconic place, for it was here that Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned in a deep pit for preaching Christianity. This monumental monastery is surrounded by mountain walls, which leaves a lasting impression. Check out the impressive church cut right out of solid rock.  Drive to the beautiful Lake Sevan surrounded by a vast chain of mountains. Climb a flight of stairs to the Sevan peninsula for an unforgettable panoramic view of the lake and see the 9th-century monastery of Sevanavank. Built by the princess Mariam in honor of her late husband, Sevanavank is also home to one of the most beautiful Amenaprkich Khachkars of Armenia.

The most astonishing part however is the virtue of the architect, who cut the church right into the solid rock whilst also considering all the rules of Armenian architecture. On your way to the temple, there will be another short stop at the Charents Arch where you will be given the chance to enjoy one of the best moments of your trip to Armenia: a picturesque view of the Biblical Mount Ararat.
