Uluru: Sacred Sites & Sunset Tour with Wine & Cheeseboard

1. Uluru: Sacred Sites & Sunset Tour with Wine & Cheeseboard

Depart Ayers Rock Resort and journey into the sacred world of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia on a drive around the base of Uluru in a comfortable bus. Get explanations about the extraordinary site from your driver/guide, and hear about the numerous sacred sites found there. Continue to the Kuniya Walk, where your driver/guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole.  See Aboriginal rock paintings, and learn more about the area as you are shown some of the native flora and given details of both the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Next, go to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and learn about Aboriginal culture. Look at fine examples of Aboriginal arts and crafts, and then journey back to the rock in time to watch the sunset from the viewing area.  Marvel at the striking color changes on the rock as you enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine.

Find your ideal spot, and then just sit back and relax as you watch the sun disappear behind the horizon and change the colors of the rocks in a million splendid ways. After sunset, you will be transferred to an exclusive barbecue site. The site is located far enough away from the resort lights to provide a clear view of the stars in the southern sky. Dine on an Australian gourmet barbecue menu of steak, kangaroo meat, lamb sausages, chicken skewers and garlic prawns, salads, and a tasty dessert. The guide will also explain some Aboriginal stories that relate to the stars before you return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Kata Tjuṯa Sunset Tour with Sparkling Wine and Cheeseboard

3. Kata Tjuṯa Sunset Tour with Sparkling Wine and Cheeseboard

Sit back and relax as you travel into the amazing National Park while your driver guide shares insights into the natural and cultural history of this fascinating region. Kata Tjuta simply translated means ‘many heads’ and given the 36 steep-sided domes of Kata Tjuta, it is aptly named. This incredible formation of rock domes extends six kilometres into the ground and is the remains of erosion that began more than 500 million years ago. The area is sacred under Anangu men’s law and under this law, details of many stories of Kata Tjuta are not known except to initiated men. While delighting in chilled Australian wines and canapés, you can enjoy the wonder of a Kata Tjuta sunset. Each passing minute brings something new as the domes continue to change colour with the setting sun.

What people are saying about Yulara

WE HAD A FABULOUS TOUR. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. JESS AND ANDY WERE OUR GUIDES, TELLING US THE HISTORY WITH THE STORIES OF THE FIRST NATIONS PEOPLE. THE GROUND WAS FLAT. THE WALK WAS EASY , NOT TO FAR. THEN AFTER YOU GO TO ANOTHER SPOT A LITTLE BIT AWAY TO ENJOY THE SUNSET WITH A WINE AND A NIBBLE. OR YOU CAN STAY AND HAVE A BBQ.

This was an amazing well organised trip , we went to a view point to watch sunset over Uluṟu with wines and nibbles , beautiful indigenous lady’s selling paintings then to a wonderful bbq dinner with Uluṟu in backdrop , the evening finished with a excellent comentry on the night sky

I enjoyed the view. We had a variety of meat at the bbq, in a beautiful setting, followed by a very informative talk about the stars.

Fantastic experience. One of the highlights of our Uluṟu trip. Really good food and excellent service. Lovely views of Uluṟu.

Great value for money. Observing the colour changes of Uluru as the sun set was awesome!
