Depart Zadar at 08:30, and journey towards Plitviče Lakes National Park. Drive through the hinterland of the picturesque Lika region for about 2.5 hours, and then enter the park for the start of your 2-hour guided tour. Marvel at the natural scenery of the Upper Lakes area, where 12 of the 16 lakes of Plitvice can be found. Cross Kozjak Lake by boat to experience the largest and deepest of the lakes from a different perspective. Belonging to the Upper Lakes group, Kozjak Lake is the result of 2 smaller lakes merging into one and is the only navigable lake in Plitviče Lakes National Park. Glide across the serene waters, where the travertine Stephanie`s island was named by the Crown Princess Stéphanie of Belgium (wife of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria) after a visit in 1888.  Admire the idyllic scenery of the Lower Lakes region, characterized by small waterfalls, turquoise waters and surrounding greenery. Nearby lies the underground cave of Šupljara, where the conditions have given rise to an abundance of unusual cave fauna. Go to the Great Waterfall within the Lower Lakes and see the water cascade from a height of 78 meters. Soak up the atmosphere with your guide before boarding the van for the trip back to your meeting point in Zadar.

Meet your guide at Mićanovi dvori. The 5-hour activity begins with instruction on how to use your equipment before heading out on a 14.5-kilometer kayaking experience. Depending on pace and physical fitness, the trip can last from 2.5-4 hours. The goal is for everyone to enjoy time in the water to the best of their ability! In the summer, when the water level is low, you’ll head down the river by kayak. The rest of the year, when the water is high, you’ll make your way down the river by raft. Kayaks can seat 2 people and a raft can seat from 6-10 people, including the skipper. You’ll be in a group of 30 people (15 kayaks), with 2 skippers to guide you.

The begging of the trip (clothes changing, instructions, boarding and start of the paddling down the river) is at village Kaštel Žegarski . The part of the route from the village to the mouth of Krupa in Zrmanja and Visoki buk (10 meters high waterfall, the highest on Zrmanja) is hour and a half long, and the waterfall will be bypassed by 5 minutes long walk. Going down the river lasts for approximately 4 hours of which one hour is spent on occasional breaks and swimming. Paddling isn’t hard or dangerous, during the summer; the water is clear and refreshing – perfect adventure for beginners. The trip ends in a village called Muškovci, with some free time for swimming before departure. If you have arrived with your own car, we will drive you to the start point, where you had left your car.

Explore this section of the Northern Velebit National Park with an activity that is perfect for both beginners and outdoor enthusiasts Start with pickup from your hotel in Zadar and travel by bus towards the small village of Kaštel Žegarski for the start of your kayaking adventure. Listen to a short introductory briefing on the route and general safety before getting set up with all the required equipment. Set off on the river and paddle across light rapids and serene stretches of calm water. Take some occasional breaks for swimming in the refreshing water, with drinks and snacks available. As you reach the end of the route, stop beneath a picturesque waterfall for a final swim. Afterward, hop back on your transportation to return to Zadar.
