  • Journey across Kozjak Lake by boat
  • Spend a day in a stunning natural setting
Full description
Depart Zadar at 08:30, and journey towards Plitviče Lakes National Park. Drive through the hinterland of the picturesque Lika region for about 2.5 hours, and then enter the park for the start of your 2-hour guided tour. Marvel at the natural scenery of the Upper Lakes area, where 12 of the 16 lakes of Plitvice can be found. Cross Kozjak Lake by boat to experience the largest and deepest of the lakes from a different perspective. Belonging to the Upper Lakes group, Kozjak Lake is the result of 2 smaller lakes merging into one and is the only navigable lake in Plitviče Lakes National Park. Glide across the serene waters, where the travertine Stephanie`s island was named by the Crown Princess Stéphanie of Belgium (wife of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria) after a visit in 1888.  Admire the idyllic scenery of the Lower Lakes region, characterized by small waterfalls, turquoise waters and surrounding greenery. Nearby lies the underground cave of Šupljara, where the conditions have given rise to an abundance of unusual cave fauna. Go to the Great Waterfall within the Lower Lakes and see the water cascade from a height of 78 meters. Then, enjoy 1.5 hours of free time to explore the park on your own and have lunch before the return journey to Zadar at 16:00.

A beautiful National Park, with amazing crystal clear water and waterfalls. The ecosystem it provides is spectacular. It is one of natures beauties. It gets very busy and we visited in low season. Boardwalks get a bit crazy and pull off areas would be great. A must do if in Croatia.

Everything was perfect. Very good visit. I recommend going there instead from October as we did because there are a lot less people (although there are still a lot of them) but we did not stop because of the crowds, we were able to take pictures quietly. The guides are very nice. On the site it does not offer a French guide but we were lucky to have one who spoke French so it was much easier to understand. The place is beautiful, but if you go there from October, don't forget to cover yourself well, such as: jeans, sneakers, small sweater and jacket, because the temperature is much lower than Zadar for example. (it was 12 degrees maximum for us). There are stands for this restoration, toilet, ect. In short, this place is really beautiful and really worth the detour. Don't hesitate a second.

Beautiful, but avoid the high season.

We loved the place, but the provider was a little disorganized. The tour is sold as with "hotel pick up", but they actually don't pick you up. They contacted me by e-mail to let me know the meeting point a couple of days before. I wonder if it had gone to spam box or if I hadn't checked my e-mail that day. Maybe I would've waited in my hotel and missed the tour. So it's better to pay attention to it.... The guides were nice and kind, but they didn't guided us with explanations or so. They were just leading the group and that's all we got. Regarding the park, it was beautiful, clean and with a nice structure, but packed with people in august (high season). I'm not sure they have control over the quantity of people inside the park daily, because it was really full and at some points we were waiting in line to be able to move on....
